Situated in the vibrant heart of South Kensington, Eastside Restaurant and Bar is a welcoming bar & grill experience that perfectly captures the spirit of classic British dining with a modern twist. Whether you’re a local Imperial College student looking for a relaxed spot after lectures or a Londoner craving hearty comfort food, this venue serves up an inviting atmosphere filled with warmth, good cheer, and flavors that truly satisfy.
The menu reads like a tribute to beloved pub classics and inventive bar fare. For those who want to sink their teeth into an iconic British staple, the Fish and Chips is a must-try — crispy, golden batter wrapping tender white fish, served alongside flavorful, perfectly seasoned fries and that nostalgic ketchup dip. Burger enthusiasts are equally spoiled: the SCOTT’S Chicken Burger offers crispy fillets with melty mozzarella and a bright pesto mayo, creating a harmony of creamy, fresh, and savory notes. Meanwhile, the IMMORTALS Beef Burger ups the ante with chargrilled beef, crispy bacon, gooey cheese sauce, and a bold guacamole and jalapeño kick — a dish that genuinely “feels better than a 2-point conversion.” The WICKET Tandoori Cod Burger adds a spicy Indian twist that perfectly complements the bar’s laid-back yet vibrant vibe.
Eastside’s share plates elevate social dining; the Flying BOLT Jerk Wings are a standout with their fiery, crispy coating and refreshing slaw, the perfect snack to accompany a pint of London Pride Ale or one of their many draught beer options. Vegetarians and vegans aren’t neglected either — the TITAN’S Nachos come loaded with cheddar, guacamole, salsa, and jalapeños, offering a fresh, crunchy, and generously flavored snack that invites sharing and laughter around the table.
The atmosphere adds to Eastside’s charm — a friendly, laid-back bar where the staff are not only efficient but genuinely go the extra mile to ensure you feel at home. Regulars point to the combination of affordable prices, a lively environment, and consistently well-prepared food as reasons to keep coming back. Ordering a pint of Corona for under £4 in central London is a rare treat, and the excellent selection of beers and ales invites both casual and dedicated beer lovers alike.
Customers rave about the reliable kitchen delivering consistently good plates like ribs, chicken wings, crispy fish, and calamari, alongside the sharer platters that are perfect for a casual catch-up. While a few have noted occasional menu shortages or certain side dishes not being available, the overall enthusiasm is clear: Eastside balances quality and value with a warm, accessible environment that feels like a hidden gem in a busy corner of the city.
For anyone seeking a spirited destination to enjoy classic British flavors with authentic hospitality — whether grabbing a quick bite after work, settling down over beers with friends, or indulging in generous sharer platters — Eastside Restaurant and Bar at Imperial College is a standout choice. It’s a spot where great food, solid drinks, and friendly faces come together seamlessly, delivering a truly satisfying slice of London bar culture.

Fantastic good food friendly staff and very well priced for London.
Highly recommended to grab a bite and some drinks. The Classic British burger was amazing! Do not miss it. The sharers are also really good. Prices are of great value. A pint of Corona cost less than £4.- The staff? Friendly and goes the extra mile. They are also well-organised.
Great food and good prices. Enjoyed the evening. The potato dish wasn't as good as I heard. The do not serve fries on their own. Some dishes were not being served on the menu, not sure if they were low on stock. If you are a member nof staff, you get a 10℅ discount on food. I enjoyed the crispy fish, calamari and chicken wings sharer platter. Beer good prices for central london!! The kitchen closed at 7, so last orders at 6.30 on a friday evening? Fish and chips also served here!
Pretty good place compared to the other imperial cafes and restaurants. The food is of much higher quality. I tried the chicken burger there with the charcoal bun and must say it was one of the best chicken burgers I ever had, if not the best. Service was relatively fast too and nice, at least the day I went there.
Love this place. Great traditional English food. Had fish and chips and a burger. The meat was juicy and tender and the chips were crispy and salty. Lovely staff. We were served quicky and prices are really good.
Unique and delicious food (Tandoori chicken burger variant on picture), very affordable prices, pleasant atmosphere after a long day at work. Would recommend for relaxed dining!
